Noises Off!

Updated: Jan 27, 2021

Do you live on Phases 2 and 3 of the Waterfront Development?

Are you bothered by contractors’ traffic, parking, or social activity?

As part of the planning requirements, contractors are permitted to work, with associated deliveries and noise, between 08:00 and 18:00 on Mondays to Fridays, and 08:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. They are prevented from working on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Although there was some relaxation of these requirements during the first lockdown and longer hours of daylight, consent to work longer hours was still required from the local Planning authority, particularly in sensitive locations. We would suggest that occupied residential accommodation constituted a ‘sensitive location.’

If you have examples of activity outside these times, please email BWCRA with evidence, including pictures as, or by messaging Paul Motte via Facebook. We will then present this evidence to the Planners and Developers.

If you are not a member, please consider joining BWCRA, your local Residents’ Association at
